With PSG already in talks for the full back, reports in Italy suggest Chelsea have matched them in the bidding war and could be ready to gazump them by offering two players to sweeten the deal.
According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, the Blues are willing to offer both Emerson Palmieri and Andreas Christensen to the Serie A champions in the hope that the defensive duo will cover whatever hole has been left by Hakimi on the right side of defence.
Sky Sports Italia are claiming that Inter are favouring Chelsea’s proposal because of the club’s interest in the defensive duo.

The report goes on to claim that Inter would like Palmieri on loan while Chelsea would like to move the full back on permanently.
It remains to be seen if Inter would accept such an offer or if they would prefer a straight fee in order to pay off their mounting debts. It is also claimed by Sky Sports Italia that their current offer of £56m is also some way short of Inter’s asking price.
Hakimi has impressed this season at the San Siro after helping the Nerazzurri win Serie A for the first time in 11 years.
After joining for £40m from Real Madrid at the start of the season, the 22-year-old missed just one league game under Antonio Conte to help deliver the title.
Hakimi has been linked with a move to PSG for £50m, especially in the wake of Conte’s resignation following a disagreement over the potential firesale of Inter stars this summer.

But according to Calciomercato via Football Italia, his agent Alejandro Camano has quashed reports of a move for the Morocco international.
‘He is the best player in Europe in his position. That’s why there are so many rumours about him,’ Camano said. ‘Hakimi has four years left in his contract with Inter, and I want to clarify I haven’t talked to any other club.’
Despite Camano’s words of assurance to Inter supporters, he had played down links of Hakimi joining Inter last summer before he signed for the Milan outfit two weeks later.
